Science is a core subject in the Primary National Curriculum. Science is the activity by which we investigate how and why things happen or behave. It is an essential part of pupils’ learning at Alexander McLeod Primary School because it equips them with the knowledge and skills they need to understand the complex world around them. Furthermore, it is the basis of many potential future careers. There are meaningful and relevant links between science and many other areas of the curriculum, which provides opportunities for children to connect different learning experiences and therefore make better sense of a wide range of concepts.
